April 05 heres some recent shots of the compound so far.
The swivel base is cast and finish machined at RCC this last
winter term, then the top toolpost mount
was machined from a 1 inch thick piece of aluminum
The apron was also machined from solid stock instead of cast
The groove will be made into a t-slot with some cold rolled
steel bolted into place so that I can mount a
quick change toolpost from little machine shop. The small piece of aluminum
will be bolted to the tailend
of the compound and this is what the screw will run through to move the toolpost
in and out.
